Healthy Life
I facilitate educational programs for a variety of individuals in diverse organizational settings who want to lose weight, reduce stress, increase work/life balance, enhance their fitness and develop healthier lifestyles:
Healthy Living for Busy Professionals - This highly interactive workshop provides participants with tools and techniques they can use to manage stress, to create a balance between their personal and professional lives, and to develop healthier lifestyles. By the end of this program, participants are able to describe the 3 elements of healthy living, and evaluate their strengths and weaknesses when it comes to living a healthy life. They are also able to develop personal lifestyle plans designed to improve fitness, nutrition, stress management and work/life balance.
The 10 Commandments of Fitness - This session will help participants begin their fitness journey. The program describes the current state of fitness in America and introduces the concept of a fitness lifestyle. It introduces my 10 Commandments of Fitness, and identifies specific steps participants can take to start a successful exercise program. The session includes an interactive demonstration of an office exercise routine. As a result of this presentation, participants will gain an understanding of why most weight loss and fitness programs fail, and what they can do to overcome these problems.
Nutrition for Health and Performance - The American College of Sports Medicine reports that poor diet and physical inactivity contribute to 400,000 premature deaths each year. Fortunately, there is good news. By changing our dietary and exercise habits, many of these deaths can be prevented. This program addresses the diet side of the equation. Specifically, participants will learn how to improve their daily eating habits, make better nutritional choices, and create meal plans that enhance athletic performance and quality of life.
Permanent Weight Loss in 10 Simple Steps - Two out of every three Americans are overweight. More than one-third of all adults are clinically obese. Less than half of all Americans get the recommend amount of exercise on a regular basis. Every year, millions of Americans spend more than $1 billion on weight loss programs that inevitably fail. This program describes the extent to which America has become an overweight society, and the significant paradigm shift required for successful weight loss. As a result of this session, participants will be able to describe and apply 10 simple weight loss steps. This includes tips and suggestions for getting through the most difficult periods of any weight loss regimen.
Health, Fitness and Job Performance - Poor employee health creates tremendous costs for individuals and organizations. Decreased work productivity due to health-related absenteeism can have a devastating effect on organizational performance. Preventable disease accounts for the vast majority of health care costs today. This highly interactive presentation describes the connection between employee health, fitness and job performance. As a result of this session, participants will be able to describe the state of fitness in America, identify the individual and organizational benefits of improving fitness, and identify the steps they can take to develop a fitness lifestyle.
