Healthy Life Coaching
Dr. Holmes, the mark of an excellent coach is one that provides insight, information and inspiration to the individuals that they coach, whether they are a world class athlete or a highly functioning, busy professional. You have hit the mark. As a busy professional, you provided me with a perspective on how important it is to have balance in my life as it relates to my diet, exercise and most importantly, my rest. Your insight gave me purpose for not just needing to change my lifestyle but the desire to make the change. The information on how to put it all into action and identifying areas that needed more assistance than others, helped me to manage my efforts and resources more effectively. But, the key to it all is the inspiration you left with me when the coaching sessions ended. It has been about two months since our last session and I continue to make great strides in all three areas, thereby reaching my ultimate goal of a healthy lifestyle, lowering my weight, reaching workout goals and getting much needed rest. Thank you for being an excellent life coach.

In January 2005, I packed more than 210 lbs on my 5' 10" frame. Unfortunately, it wasn't muscle mass but a high percentage of body fat. My Body Mass Index was 30, which placed me in the Obese category. My waist measured 36 inches and I was incapable of getting out of the saddle while riding a bike. It's safe to say I was not living a healthy life! Today, I weigh 150 lbs, have a BMI of 21, and a waist circumference of 24 inches. I also have a much lower body fat percentage and I'm a successful cyclist who competes in a variety of events from 3 to 100 miles in length. I ride a bike over 5,000 miles a year, which is necessary for cycling success. But the primary reason I lost 60 lbs and have kept it off for years is that I made several minor changes to my lifestyle and eating habits. In other words, I made a conscious decision to develop a healthier lifestyle. As a Healthy Life coach, I will teach you how to do the same and the good news is you don't have to ride a bike all day to be successful!
My Healthy Life Coaching program will help you improve your fitness, lose weight, reduce stress and enhance your work-life balance. Most significantly, we will work together to help you develop a healthier lifestyle. Healthy Life Coaching is a rather simple process. We begin by completing the Healthy Life Inventory, which helps you evaluate the extent to which you are successfully engaged in the 3 elements of healthy living (physical activity, nutrition and life balance). Based on the results of your Inventory, we develop an individualized plan of action. Through our virtual one-on-one coaching sessions, I provide you with the tools, resources, information and inspiration you need to achieve your goals.
